Call for Entries 2018

In celebration of our Centenary year, ArtEC invites all Eastern Cape painters, sculptors, illustrators, ceramists, photographers, videographers and filmmakers to submit up to 3 works for adjudication in our 99th Annual Exhibition. As a gift to you for all the support through the years, entrance will be free to all our members. Please join us in our celebration year spanning over the following year, by participating in one of our kick-off shows.

       Non-members:                                   R60 per work
Entry fees are non-refundable.

Key Dates

Closing date for submissions: 4 pm on Friday 10th August 2018
Opening event: 6 pm on Tuesday 21th August 2018
Closing function: 6 pm on Friday 22nd September 2018
Collection of unsold works:     Monday 24th September 2018

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

  1. A maximum of 3 works may be entered.
  2. There is no restriction on the type or medium.
  3. Maximum dimensions of any piece may not exceed 160 x 160cm
  4. Video and film submissions need to consult with the gallery about equipment specifications.
  5. All works must be labelled with the name of the artist, the title of the work, the dimensions of the piece, medium and asking price.
  6. Submissions must be accompanied by completed entry forms and fees.
  7. Submissions must include a brief artist’s statement and abbreviated CV.
  8. All submissions must be suitably mounted or framed for hanging.
  9. No works may be removed before the closing of the exhibition.
  10. The exhibitor will bear the responsibility for the safety of the exhibits and any other property whilst in transit to and from the gallery. It is assumed at all times that the exhibitor has arranged insurance for the works in the event of personal loss or damage.
  11. Commission on works sold at the exhibition or as a result of being seen at the exhibition is 30%, the sum of which is deducted from the indicated sales price.
  12. Any works uncollected after the appointed dates will be charged at R10 per day for storage unless special arrangements have been made with the gallery. Any work not collected after 30 days will be ceded to ArtEC.
  13. Works must be delivered to the gallery no later than 4 pm on Friday 10th August 2018
